Edgar Tung is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Esquel Group, a knowledge-based innovation company that continuously pushes for positive change in the textile and apparel business, expanding into new territory to evolve with the industry and its customers.

Edgar is a seasoned executive with more than 25 years of solid general management experience in different industries, including technology, quality assurance as well as food and beverage retailing. Prior to his appointment as CEO at Esquel, he was the Chief Operation Officer and had taken leadership roles in sales and other corporate functions in the group.

Early on in his career, he founded an Internet start-up powering performance-based online marketing in Greater China, designed and structured equity derivatives products at the Jardine Fleming Group, and coordinated the design and launch of Hong Kong’s Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) System as an Administrative Officer of the Hong Kong Government.

Edgar is the founding Chairman of the Youth Arch Foundation that aims at identifying and developing young leaders. He also chairs the supervisory committee of the Youth Arch Trust and sits on the Board of the Esquel-Y.L. Yang Education Foundation. Edgar is also an Aspen China Fellow, an agenda contributor of the World Economic Forum focusing on Advanced Manufacturing and Production, and a member of the Advisory Board of the HKMA Institute of Advanced Management Development.

A native mainland Chinese grown up in Hong Kong, Edgar graduated from the Imperial College, London with a Bachelor of Engineering (Computing) degree and obtained his MBA from the Harvard Business School. Edgar is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
