Hans Michael Jebsen
Hans Michael Jebsen joined Jebsen Group in Hong Kong in 1981, and has been the Chairman and main shareholder of the Group since 2000.
Mr Jebsen is a director of Singapore-based Jebsen & Jessen Pte Ltd., part of the Jebsen and Jessen Family Enterprise. He is also a Non-Executive Director of Hysan Development Co. Ltd. as well as an Independent Non-executive Director of The Wharf (Holdings) Ltd. in Hong Kong.
Hans Michael Jebsen is active in various NGOs and charities. He is the Chairman of the Asian Cultural Council Hong Kong, a trustee of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in Hong Kong, as well as a member of the Advisory Board of Hong Kong Red Cross. He established the Jebsen Educational Foundation in 1995, and now serves as Chairman on the Corporate Advisory Board of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Business School. Since 2015, he is also a member of the Operations Review Committee of the Independent Commission Against Corruption. In 2017, he co-founded the Asian Academy of International Law.
Mr Jebsen was awarded the Blanchette Hooker Rockefeller Award in 2018; Doctor of Business Administration honoris causa of The Hong Kong University of Science & Technology in 2015; Knight 1st class of the Order of Dannebrog, Denmark in 2014; the Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2009; the Silver Cross of the Order of Dannebrog, Denmark in 2006 and in 2001, the Bronze Bauhinia Star of the Hong Kong SAR.
He studied Economics and Business Administration at the University of St Gallen, Switzerland.
