Malini started her career as a civil servant, in the Indian Revenue Service of the Indian government, where she worked until 1995 in various positions in the Finance, Defense and Textile Ministries.

She then moved to HSBC, where she was Head of Communications, Public Policy and Corporate Sustainability for the HSBC Group in India until 2012, when she has moved to Hong Kong to take on the responsibility of Corporate Sustainability for the Asia Pacific Region.

She has a Master’s Degree in History from Delhi University, India, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Ohio University, USA and has done the Cycle Special Etranger at the Ecole Nationale d’Administration (ENA) in Paris, France.

She serves on the Asia Pacific Board of Junior Achievement; is Co-Chair of the Corporate & Employee Contribution Programme Organising Committee and member of the Campaign Committee of The Community Chest of Hong Kong; Director of the Business Environment Council Limited (BEC), Hong Kong.
