Dr Ronald Lu is the founder and chairman of Ronald Lu & Partners (RLP Asia). He established RLP Asia in 1976, after receiving a B. Arch (Honours) from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Australia and completing postgraduate studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the US. Over the ensuing decades, his commitment to professional quality and outstanding client services have allowed RLP Asia to grow into an award-winning, sustainability-focused architecture and interior design practice.
Today, RLP Asia is a household name in Hong Kong and beyond, known for world-class, sustainable, life-centric projects spanning over 30 cities across Asia that have improved the green built environment and created iconic focal points for people and commerce.
Dr Lu’s achievements and his dedication to improving people’s lives through architecture have earned him numerous accolades, including an Honorary Doctorate from the University of New South Wales, the Outstanding Australian Alumnus of Hong Kong, the Alumni Achievement Award from MIT, the Pinnacle Award at the A&D Trophy Awards, being named a Design Honor Master by the Shenzhen Engineering Survey and Design Honor Master Accreditation Committee, and more.
Dr. Lu is an active member in several professional architectural organizations in Hong Kong and Greater China. He previously served as the Chairman of the Hong Kong Architecture Centre, the President of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects and the Hong Kong Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. He is currently an Honorary Professor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His involvement in community work is diverse and extensive, encompassing charities, education, sports, and the environment.
