Co-founder and Honorary Chairman of Acer Group
Stan Shih is Chairman of Stans Foundation, co-founder and Honorary Chairman of the Acer Group, and the Chairman of the NCAF. He serves on the boards of Acer, BenQ, Wistron, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Nan Shan Life Insurance Co., Ltd., and Taiwan Public Television Service Foundation. He is the former Chairman of the Asia Business Council, a Governor of the Asian Institute of Management, and a member of the International Advisory Board of the China Europe International Business School. Business Week named him one of its 25 Top Managers of the Year in 1996. Time featured him in “60 Years of Asian Heroes.” In 2007, Mr. Shih, as Taiwan’s Special Envoy, attended the APEC Leaders’ Summit. The President honored him with the Order of Brilliant Star with Grand Cordon in 2011 and the first Industrial Technology Research Institute Laureate in 2012. He obtained a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Honorary Ph.D. in electronics engineering from the National Chiao Tung University. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Technology by Hong Kong Polytechnic University and an Honorary Doctor of International Law by the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
