Li Chung (Sandi) Pei, AIA, is an architect and the founding partner of Pei Partnership Architects based in New York City. The firm is an international practice specializing in large-scale commercial, cultural, residential, healthcare, hospitality and educational projects. Since the founding of Pei Partnership Architects, Mr. Pei has directed the design of over five million square meters of building and several large-scale urban development projects in the United States, Mexico, China, Indonesia and Singapore. He has designed over 60 projects spanning fourteen countries and five continents and has been widely published in professional journals and in the national and international media.

Some of his firm’s notable projects include the Chinese Embassy, Washington, DC; the Suzhou Museum, Suzhou, China the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles as well as The Centurion luxury condominium building in New York City. The firm’s clients include BMW, the Bank of China, China Institute, Creative Artists Agency, Macao Foundation, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, MIT and numerous municipal governments, cultural institutions and property developers.

Beyond his public service contributions to the profession, Mr. Pei enjoys a sustaining interest in the arts and serves on Christie’s Advisory Board and as Vice President of the Museum of Modern Art International Council.

He is a graduate of Harvard College and the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
