John Slosar is Chairman of John Swire & Sons (H.K.) Limited, Swire Pacific Limited, Swire Properties Limited, Cathay Pacific Airways Limited, and Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited. He is also Chairman of Swire Beverages Limited and Swire Pacific Offshore Holdings Limited.

Mr. Slosar joined the Swire Group in 1980. He has held various management positions in the group’s operations in Hong Kong, the United States and Thailand. He was appointed Managing Director of Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited in 1996, Managing Director of Swire Beverages in July 1998 and Chief Operating Officer of Cathay Pacific in July 2007. He became the Chief Executive of Cathay Pacific on 31st March 2011. He was appointed to his current position on 14th March 2014.

Mr. Slosar is an Independent Non-executive Director of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, as well as a Non-executive Director of Air China Limited. He is also involved in a number of trade and professional bodies. He is a Vice-President of The Real Estate Developers Association of Hong Kong. He is also a member of the Economic Development Commission’s Working Group on Transportation, a member of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, a council member of the Employers’ Federation of Hong Kong. He is both a council member and a member of the Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Management Association. Mr. Slosar is Chairman of the Hong Kong Section of the Hong Kong-United States Business Council, a General Committee Member of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, and a co-opted member of the General Committee of the British Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Slosar is active in community activities, being a Board Member of The Community Chest, a member of the Advisory Board of Hong Kong Red Cross, a voting member of the Riding for the Disabled Association, as well as a member of the Board of Governors of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Society Limited.

Mr. Slosar is involved in education both locally and overseas. He is a member of the Council of Lingnan University, as well as a member of the Stanford Graduate School of Business Advisory Council.

Mr. Slosar was bestowed with the distinction of Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur by the French government in January 2015.

Mr. Slosar is a graduate of both Columbia University and Cambridge University.
