Geoff Yang is the Non-executive Director of Esquel Group, a leading textile and apparel manufacturer with operations throughout the world.
Mr. Yang holds a BSE in engineering from Princeton University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Mr. Yang has been in the venture capital industry since 1985. He was a general partner of Institutional Venture Partners (a $3B family of early stage venture capital funds) and a marketing representative at IBM.
Mr. Yang was the founding partner and now Managing Director of Redpoint Ventures, which was founded in 1999 and its partners have been involved in the founding or early funding of companies such as HomeAway, Juniper, MySpace and Netflix.
Mr. Yang was previously an officer and Executive Committee member of the US Golf Association (USGA). He was also past president of the Western Association of Venture Capitalists, director to the National Venture Capital Association, chairman of the Stanford Engineering Fund, Trustee and officer of the Menlo School, Advisory Council member for the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and member of the President’s Information Technology Advisory Committee (appointed by George W. Bush).
Currently, Mr. Yang serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Franklin Resources (Franklin Templeton Funds) and numerous private companies. In addition, he is a trustee for the US Ski and Snowboarding Association Foundation, the US Olympic and Paralympic Foundation, an Advisory Board member for the PGA of America, and Chairman of the Princeton Alumni Entrepreneurs Fund.
