Professor Yin began serving as the Chairman and President of Beijing Tsinghua Tongheng Urban Planning and Design Institution Co., Ltd. in 2012, and took up the role of Chairman and CEO of Tsinghua Holdings Human Settlement Construction Co., Ltd. in 2013. Having graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1985 and received his Doctor’s degree in Urban Planning and Design in 1992 from Tsinghua University, he served as a professor at the University since 1998.

Professor Yin has hosted and participated in numerous urban planning projects since 1985 with a focus on interdisciplinary approach in the last two decades. His teaching has established a methodology specialized for comprehensive projects and was widely applied in postgraduate courses.

His award-winning urban planning projects include: planning and design of the Beijing Olympic Forest Park (First Prize of China Association of City Planning, May 2009), and detailed construction planning of Wenchuan (First Prize of the 2009 Annual National Outstanding Planning and Design Award – Post Disaster Reconstruction Planning, December 2010).
